Job Title: Livestream Specialist

Plymouth Church UCC is seeking to fill a part-time position of Livestream Specialist. This position is primarily for Sunday mornings and occasional additional services during the year as needed.

 

Compensation range is $20-$25 per hour.

Position Description:

  • 4-5 hours per week, including 9:00 a.m. to noon on Sundays, and 1-2 hours of preparation beforehand.

  • Perform the set-up and execution of our in-person/livestreamed worship service.

  • Make sure microphones are in the correct locations according to music needs.

  • Before the worship service, create slides for lyrics/liturgy to be used during the livestream.

  • Manage the volunteer team which operates the camera/switching each week.

  • Use ProPresenter to place weekly liturgy/music on screen.

  • Pay attention to the livestream audio and adjust as needed.

  • Cut and upload each week’s sermon for podcast.

  • Maintain and operate audio, video, and production-related computer systems and equipment.

  • With plenty of advanced notice, availability for special services, especially during the Easter and Christmas seasons

 

Requirements:

  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of livestreaming

  • Ability to quickly diagnose and resolve issues, especially equipment issues

  • Experience / understanding of mixing sound

  • Familiarity with Propresenter preferred

  • Flexibility and ability to adapt as situations required

  • High School diploma/GED

 

Preferred but not required:

  • Familiarity with church liturgy, terminology, and customs

 

Position reports to the Senior Minister and works closely with clergy, worship staff, office administrator and livestream volunteers.

Job Title:       Sexton – Sunday & Evening Building Service

Report to:      Facility Manager

SUMMARY

Performs a variety of duties with the primary focus on entry & security of the Church and its facilities and systems to ensure that the facilities are properly cared for and operate smoothly.  The work focus will be in high traffic areas requiring regular cleaning and some maintenance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Listed below are the essential duties of this job.  Other duties may be assigned.  To successfully perform this job, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

 

Security/Safety                                                                                                                   

  1. Open building by:

    • Properly disarming building alarm security system

    • Unlocking designated entry doors

    • Turn on building lights in Sanctuary, Chapel, hallways, conference rooms

    • Setting open interior doors for passage by service & event attendees

  2. May support contract snow & ice removal services by operating snow blower as needed

  3. Close building by

    • Closing interior doors

    • Turning off building lights in event areas

    • Locking/securing designated entry doors

    • Properly setting building alarm security system

 

Janitorial/Cleaning                                                                                                            

  1. Responsible for reactive cleaning within building during worship, concerts, other events

  2. Maintain clean & supplied restrooms with building during worship, concert, other events

  3. Remove waste and debris after events, as necessary

 

Other Duties                                                                                                                       

  1. Move furniture and other heavy items as needed.

  2. Greet and assist congregants/staff in general duties, providing customer service to all

  3. Confirm proper room preparation and set-up for events and activities

  4. Other duties as assigned.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no direct supervision responsibilities.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Listed below are the qualifications required for this position and indicative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required to be successful in this position.

 

Education, Training and/or Experience

  1. Minimum of three years work experience in similar professional positions

  2. Experience in operating snow blowing tractor.  

  3. Experience operating burglar, fire, building alarm systems 

  4. High School Diploma required

  5. Valid driver’s license required

  3. Ability to work well in a team-based environment that values honest communication and being dedicated to the overall mission of the church

  4. Perform in a cooperative, effective, & professional manner with church officers, staff, and congregants

  5. Availability to work overtime, holidays and weekends as needed.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Three (3) years or more experience working in similar position within a Church, University/College, hospitality, or event management company

  2. Experience working in a historic building or facility

 

Physical Demands

  1. The demands listed below are representative of those that must be routinely met by an employee to successfully perform essential duties of this position.

    • Able to occasionally lift & carry items weighing 50 – 75 pounds, including furniture & equipment

    • Bending, stooping, shoveling, & climbing both installed ladders and step ladders, as needed

    • Able to use manual equipment for moving furniture & equipment, weighing approximately 75 – 100 pounds

  3. Weekly work schedule of Sunday mornings, M – Th evenings, special events

    • Approximately 22-24 hours per week.
