ArtsPlymouth 2009 Lenten Project

In the spirit of the visual arts, ArtsPlymouth is launching a project called, “A Photographic Meditation on Handel’s Messiah Part 2.”  Here is how it works and why we need your help.

First, texts from Part 2 of Messiah are available on the website; click here for the texts.  You, your family, a group of friends, a Christ Care group, etc., select one of the texts that speaks to you.  You then take a photograph of an image that you feel reflects the text.  This is a project that is intergenerational so everyone can participate.

Second, you submit your photo to Jim Riggs electronically (jriggs@plymouthchurchucc.org) by February 1, 2009, with no more than five sentences as to why you selected the text and photographed the image.  ArtsPlymouth will take all the submissions and group them together into a display.  The chapel will become an art gallery during the season of Lent where folks may come and view the display, meditate, and pray.
