Lenten Devotional – Tuesday, February 26

By Jeff Pollock

Psalm 105:2-4

Sing to him, sing praises to him, tell of all his wonderful works.  Glory in his holy name: let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice!  Seek the Lord and his strength, seek his presence continually.

The Psalmist reminds us that God is present to us always but we are not passive recipients of his glory.  Instead, we are implored to seek the Lord, to seek his presence continually.  As finite and limited as we are, we are part of the equation.  God is available to us but we must take the affirmative act of seeking out God.  We cannot just sit back and wait for God to be revealed to us and then lose faith when there is silence.  Seek God’s presence continually, starting now and upon each day that is given to us.

God, help us to seek your presence in each day so we might be active participants in the lives you have given us.
