Lenten Devotional – March 12, 2013

By Eva Garden

Psalm 53

We know that there are some people who profess to be sinners and are corrupt.  We hear and read about them in the news every day. They believe there is no God which is to cover their sins to have an excuse to sin and not feel guilty.

On the other hand, many of us have changed our thinking and become Christians as we become wiser and mature.  A good example of that is expressed in the lyrics of the old Negro Spiritual, “Amazing Grace,” Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me.  I once was lost but now am found, was blind but now I see.

We do need to worry about what God thinks of us as Christians, and in how we are living.  Are we living as the non-believer and thinking we are Christians?

In my opinion, God wants us to be loving, caring people who read the Bible daily.  We should give a helping hand when needed and pray continually. We need to live each day accordingly so that we may receive eternal life.

Heavenly Father, help us live our lives in the paths you would
want us to go,
to do God’s work in a loving, kind, and thoughtful way.

Pray for the sick and help those in need.AMEN!
