Plymouth Church Choirs

Plymouth Church has long been known for its strong music program. Martin Luther referred to music as “a precious gift bestowed on people alone to remind them that they are created to praise and magnify the Lord.” Music ministry at Plymouth seeks to provide for children and adults, of all ages, as many opportunities as possible to "make a joyful noise unto the Lord" through singing as well as on instruments as diverse as drums, handbells, Orff instruments, organ and piano, strings, and brass. It is our prayer that you will consider joining us in praising God through music.

Choirs

The Congregational Choir is our largest choir of about 150 each Sunday. Hymns of different styles are sung from both the Pilgrim Hymnal and The New Century Hymnal. Through congregational singing we retell our faith, we connect with past generations, and we sing for each other.

The Chancel Choir rehearses on Thursday evenings from 8 pm-9:30 pm September through April and prior to worship on Sunday. The choir is comprised of adults and high school students who enjoy preparing and offering a wide variety of anthems and large works.

The Summer Choir sings at various times during June, July and August with a brief rehearsal on Sunday mornings at 9:15 a.m. Contact James P. Riggs, the Minister of Music and The Arts for a complete schedule.
