On May 11 we recognize
Abigail Rockwood, our outstanding
Music Intern, for her two years of service to Plymouth Church.
Next Sunday, May 18 will be her last Sunday with us. Abbie
will graduate from CIM next weekend and then will begin her
new job as full-time Assistant Organist/Choirmaster at St.
Paul's Cathedral in Buffalo, NY. Abbie, we offer our gratitude
to you for a job well done and pray God's blessings on you.
You will be greatly missed!
Prayer Shawl Ministry evening
event. Have you wanted to attend a Prayer Shawl
Ministry meeting, but were unable to because it meets during
the day? Now's your chance! We are holding a special evening
meeting, May 14th, 7:00 p.m. - 8:00
p.m. in room 102. Materials and instructions will
be provided, and lively conversation is guaranteed. No experience
is needed; all knitters and crocheters (or wannabes) are welcome.
Hope to see you there!
Summer Choir begins
May 25. Come blend your voice with others
by attending a brief warm-up/rehearsal at 9:30 am in the sanctuary.
Choir robes will not be worn, so you are encouraged to wear
a white shirt/blouse and dark pants/skirt. It is helpful,
but not necessary to let Jim Riggs know of your intention
to sing.
Feed Our Neighbors.
To respond to people who come to the church in need of food,
the Caring Department is beginning a "Feed Our Neighbors"
Initiative at Plymouth Church. After determining the needs
of the person, the ministers can provide the person with either
a grocery store coupon or a bag of groceries, assisting people
only twice in a calendar year. Those we cannot assist will
be directed to the local food pantry when appropriate. The
Caring Department needs your help. Please consider doing any
of the following:
Buy a grocery store coupon
from any local grocery store in a $20 denomination, but
any amount is appreciated. Bring to the office, attention
"Feed Our Neighbors."
Make a cash/check donation to the
church, earmarked
for the "Feed Our Neighbors" Initiative - we will
use the funds to buy coupons and actual groceries.
Purchase any of the following items
and drop them off in the box marked "Feed Our Neighbors"
Initiative outside the sanctuary. Needed: pasta, spaghetti
sauce, breakfast cereal, rice, canned vegetables, canned fruits,
canned tuna, instant pudding, plain crackers.

for a parent. The special contribution envelopes are on the
counter by the sign-up sheets. Place your envelopes in the
offertory plate or bring them to the office.
Volunteers are needed to
prepare and/or deliver a meal to someone in need
